Edward Cole

Civil Litigation, Natural Resources

Edward Cole is an attorney with Sodl & Ingram. Edward’s practice focuses on civil litigation and natural resources matters. He regularly represents property owners and businesses in litigation, which over the past 20 years has included a wide range of disputes, including contract and business torts, civil rights claims under Title VII and the ADA, title insurance litigation, and commercial foreclosures and workouts.

In his natural resources work, Edward represents landowners and other private parties on wetlands, water use, endangered species and mineral rights issues. This has included both regulatory and litigation matters, including water use permit challenges, disputes between landowners and mills concerning long term timber leases, mineral leases and surface impacts, wetland mitigation bank permitting and conservation land sales.

Edward has also been active in the community, having recently served as board chair for a Charter School in North Carolina and as President of the Florida Forestry Association, and has contributed over a hundred hours a year throughout his career to pro bono representation.

Prior to joining Sodl & Ingram, Edward was a partner and head of the litigation practice group for Akerman LLP in its Jacksonville, Florida office and, more recently, was a partner with a regional law firm in the North Carolina mountains.
